Kawasaki Versys 1100: The Next Evolution in Adventure Touring for 2025
The Kawasaki Versys 1100 is back for 2025, and this latest iteration promises to bring even more excitement to your adventures. Known for its versatility and performance, the Versys takes a bold step forward with several key upgrades that enhance both power and rideability. Whether you're tearing down a perfectly smooth highway or navigating the rugged backroads, the 2025 Versys 1100 has been developed to handle it all.
More Power Under the Hood
The most notable upgrade for 2025 is the increase in engine capacity. Kawasaki has expanded the displacement of the In-Line Four engine from 1,043 cm³ to 1,099 cm³, thanks to a longer stroke. This increase boosts the bike's peak power from 120PS to a thrilling 135PS, providing more than enough muscle for any road you choose to explore.
But it’s not just about peak power—there’s also improved mid-high rpm torque, making acceleration even smoother and more responsive. These enhancements will make your ride feel more engaging, particularly on those long, winding roads that beg for just a little more power.
A Focus on Touring
In addition to more power, the 2025 Versys 1100 lineup—featuring the Standard, S, and SE models—has received several upgrades aimed at improving touring potential. The Kawasaki Quick Shifter (KQS) has been updated to allow shifting from as low as 1,500 rpm, making for a more seamless ride in lower gears. New upper gear ratios further enhance touring comfort, especially when paired with electronic cruise control for those longer journeys.
Engine Refinements for a Smoother Ride
Kawasaki didn’t stop at power and torque. The engine has been fine-tuned with several changes that enhance its performance across the rev range. Longer center intake funnels, a throttle body change, and optimized intake ports all contribute to better torque delivery between 4,000 and 7,000 rpm.
The introduction of a heavier flywheel and a secondary balancer significantly reduces vibrations, creating a smoother, more enjoyable ride. The exhaust system has also been updated with larger connector pipes, helping the bike deliver better performance across all RPMs.
Improved Cooling and Braking
Keeping all this power in check requires excellent control, and Kawasaki has made sure the 2025 Versys 1100 is up to the task. The new model comes with an oil cooler for improved cooling performance, making it more capable of handling long rides without overheating.
Braking has also been upgraded, with the rear disc size increasing from 250mm to 260mm, offering more stopping power and better control.
Tech-Savvy Touring
Kawasaki hasn’t skimped on tech. The Versys 1100 features a USB-C port as standard and offers a host of electronic rider aids, including KTRC traction control, cornering management, power mode and riding mode selections. SE model riders will also benefit from Showa electronically damped suspension for a smoother ride.
And with the latest version of Kawasaki’s Rideology App, which now includes voice commands, staying connected and in control of your ride has never been easier.
